Hi, and welcome. My name is Jaymie Barette, MA, LPC & LCMHC. I’m a wife, a mom of three, and I am the founder and proud owner of Growing Mindfully, LLC. I am a multi-passionate therapist that has developed and honed my expertise in several different specialties over the last 13 years including women’s issues, motherhood (pregnancy, prenatal and postpartum) and professional athletics. Each specialty is unique to work with and I look forward to continuing my experience going forward. However, during my time as a therapist I have come to realize time and again that the women of the world and the community at large are such an underserved population.
I started to realize this after having my first child. My personal experience highlighted even more that women need help! This realization inspired me to become certified as a postpartum specialist. The idea that women need support isn’t exclusive to just the child bearing years though. Along my journey as a therapist I have guided and helped women build what I like to call an imaginary tool box that they have access to at any time and are equipped to utilize when necessary.
Our Journey Together
There could be any number of reasons you are reading this bio and searching for answers and I believe I can help. Not only this, but it is my firm belief that with intentional focus and dedication that anyone can grow. With the proper support, guidance and tools, we can create the life you want. Regardless of what season of life you are currently in and what type of help you are looking for, asking for help is the hardest part. Please know that I feel incredibly privileged to hear your story and walk alongside you in your journey no matter what that looks like. Above all remember you are not alone.
I specialize in talk therapy. I approach this form of therapy in a holistic way so I can help you grow in a way that’s continuously improving as many aspects of your life as possible. It’s important to get to the root of what’s bothering you and what caused it. Always remember that you’re more than the current issues and that they don’t define you. My goal is to get to know you on a personal level to learn everything I can and then approach a solution in a process oriented way. The goal is not to ‘fix’ anything overnight but to truly understand and adapt to it.
Let’s Get Personal
To get our journey started, here’s a little more about me so we can start to get to know each other. I’m a mom of three little ones and two dogs and have been married to my husband for 16 years. During quarantine, I took up running and will participate in my first half marathon in November. I was born and raised in New Jersey, but have come to the South to support my husband’s career and he’s always been a huge supporter of mine. My life and family have both inspired me and challenged me which allows me to have experiences that help me help you, and I look forward to growing together.
